SSC JE eligibility Criteria

A candidate must be either:
  1. citizen of India,or
  2. a subject of Nepal, or
  3. a subject of Bhutan, or
  4. a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the IstJanuary, 1962 with theintention of permanently settling in India, or
  5. a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka,East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia andVietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall be aperson in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to theExamination but the offer of appointment will be given only after the necessary eligibilitycertificate has been issued to him by theGovernment of India.

SSC JE Age details

  • JE in (Civil, Electrical & Mechanical), Central Water Commission and CPWD – Not exceeding 32 years.
  • JE in (Civil & Electrical), Department of Post and Junior Engineer (Surveying and Contract), MES – 18 to 27 years.
  • JE in (Civil, Electrical & Mechanical), MES – Not exceeding 30 years.

Age relaxation provided to reserved categories as per the Government.

SSC JE Exam Pattern

TIER I (Computer based Examination) TIER II (Descriptive Exam)

Exam Information:

  • Total Questions: 200
  • Total Duration: 120 Mins.
  • Total Marks: 200 (01 Marks/Each Question)
  • Negative Marking: 0.25 Marks/Question

Subjects of the Exam:

  1. General Intelligence and Reasoning: 50 Questions/50 Marks
  2. General Awareness: 50 Questions/50 Marks
  3. General Engineering: 100 Questions/100 Marks
  4. Note: General Engineering consist three parts and candidates need to attepmts only one part, which is for you have applied!
    1. Part A (Civil & Structural)
    2. Part B (Electrical)
    3. Part C (Mechanical)

Exam Information:

  • Total Duration: 120 Mins.
  • Total Marks: 300

Subjects of the Exam:

  1. Written exam, In which you need to answer the question using pen and paper mode.
