SSC GD eligibility Criteria

A candidate must be either:
  1. citizen of India,or
  2. a subject of Nepal, or
  3. a subject of Bhutan, or
  4. a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the IstJanuary, 1962 with theintention of permanently settling in India, or
  5. a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka,East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia andVietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall be aperson in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to theExamination but the offer of appointment will be given only after the necessary eligibilitycertificate has been issued to him by theGovernment of India.

SSC GD Age details

Minimum age is 18 years and maximum age is 23 years. Age relaxation provided to reserved categories as per the Government (PH - "Physically Handicapped" candidates are not eligible for this exam.)

  • For all male candidates belonging to ST: 162.5 cms
  • For All male candidates: 80 cms. (expansion chest of 05 cms is necessary)
  • For male candidates belonging to Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Dogras, Marathas and candidates belonging to the States of Assam, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir: 78 cms. (expansion chest of 05 cms is necessary)
  • For all male candidates belonging to ST: 76 cms (expansion chest of 05 cms is necessary)

Medical Test

  • Eye sight should be 6/6 and 6/9 without wearing specs or lenses and no color blindness
  • Candidates should not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes.
  • Should be free from any Physical defects.
Physical Standards Test & Physical Efficiency Test TIER II (Offline & online) Medical Test
  • In PET: For MALE candidates,You should complete 5Km race in 24 Minutes and For Female Candidates it should be 1.6 Km race in 8 minutes
  • In PST: Please refer "Physical Standards" section
